Gary Mitchell Masters

Gary Mitchell Masters, a lifelong resident of Madison County, passed away peacefully at the age of 65 on April 15, 2024. Born on August 19, 1958, to the late Russell E. and Beulah B. Whittamore Masters, Gary’s spirit was defined by his warmth and generosity.

Gary was a cherished brother, father, uncle, and friend to many. He attended Madison High School, where he made many lifelong friends. Gary’s legacy is continued by his children, Arron Mitchell and Heather Nicole Masters, and his devoted siblings, Bruce Edward (Kathy) Masters, Lisa Carol (Rick) Thumma, Rufus Mason (Peggy) Masters, and Sharon (The late Mike) Pugh. He was predeceased by his parents and sisters, Patricia Ann Hacker, Tammy Jean Alexander, and half-brother, Russell Masters, Jr.

Gary was especially close to his niece, Crystal Rae Kelley, who provided unwavering care and companionship in his final years. His warmth, wisdom, and laughter are deeply missed by his family and a close-knit circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Graveside service will be held at Silver Creek Cemetery on Monday,

April 22, 2024. His uncle, Rev. Robert Sheets officiated.

Lakes Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
