Thomas Blackburn, 53, husband of Heather Smith Blackburn, passed away from injuries after a car accident on April 25, 2024, in Lincoln County. Thomas was a Madison Southern graduate, he joined the US Army after school and continued his service in Army Reserves 2123rd Transportation Company, he served in Afghanistan, was decorated for meritorious service and earned a Purple Heart.

Thomas is survived by his wife Heather Smith Blackburn, his mother Sherlena Blackburn, his father Thomas D Blackburn, his children: Brandy Nicole (Brandon) Blevins, Silver Alex Dean Blackburn, Joselyn Renee’ Sergent, his sister Shana (James) Napier, grandchildren: Alexander Blevins, and Grayson Blevins.

Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday May 1, 2024. Bro. Bill Hammonds officiated. Burial with Military Honors took place at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Pallbearers were Wes Jones, Paul Miller, Chad Carol, Justin Rhodus, Chris Eden, Gus Lafontaine, Chris Ramsey, and Austin Napier. Honorary pallbearers were the 2123rd Transportation Unit, James Napier, Tom Whitcomb, and Brandon Blevins.

Lakes Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
