Blue Grass Army Depot to test sirens Wednesday

Blue Grass Chemical Activity will test emergency sirens located on the Blue Grass Army Depot at noon on Wednesday, Oct. 23. The siren test will prepare for a Chemical Incident/Mishap Response and Assistance exercise on Nov. 20. Those in the vicinity of the depot may hear the sirens during the test and the exercise.
BGCA, BGAD, Blue Grass Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant and other partners in the Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program community conduct quarterly exercises to maintain emergency response preparedness until all agent-contaminated secondary waste, including drained, containerized rocket
warheads, is destroyed. BGCAPP destroyed the last of the chemical weapons stockpile stored at the depot on July 7.
