Doyle 'Dutch' Yancey, Jr.

Doyle “Dutch” Yancey, Jr., 67, of Berea, died suddenly Friday, Jan. 3, 2025 at his home of an apparent heart attack. He was a Hazard native born July 7, 1957, son of Doyle Yancey, Sr. and the late Minnie Bates Yancey, retired technologist, and member of the Baptist Faith.
Dutch was a U. S. Army 101st Airbourne Division veteran, Kentucky Colonel, History buff and as a technologist involved in electronic or digital products and systems. He moved to Kentucky from Dallas, Texas in 1998.
Survivors include his loving wife of 26 years Penny Saylor Yancey; his father Doyle Yancey, Sr.; children Andrea Anderson (Luke), Emily Vaughn (Mike), Joe Lake (Valerie), Chris Quinley (Catherine Young); siblings Garrett Yancey, Todd Yancey; 4 grandchildren; as well as numerous relatives and friends. In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by daughter Laurel and sister Sonya.
In accordance with Dutch’s wishes, he was cremated and no public service is scheduled at this time.
