M.A. Adams

M.A. Adams, known for his quick wit and love for the outdoors, passed away peacefully on Jan. 6, 2025, at The Terrace in Berea. Born on Jan. 19, 1943, in Madison County, M.A. lived a life full of laughter, adventure, and service, leaving behind a legacy of joy and dedication.
M.A. was the beloved son of the late James and Bertha Adams. His life was a testament to the strong family values instilled in him from a young age. He was a loving brother to L.J. Adams (Evelyn) of Ohio, Barney Adams of Kentucky, and Ruby Abney of Kentucky. M.A. was a devoted father to his children, Ricky Adams, Kaye Elkins, Joe Parker (Shawna), Chris Beeler, and Connie Webb (Ronnie), and he cherished the memories created with each of them. He was also a doting grandfather to Austin Webb, Alexis Elkins, Kennedy Elkins, Brent Webb, Machesia Johnson (Jeff), Constance Shearer, Emily Rhodus (Paul), Tim Anglin, John Anglin, Bryan Beeler, Erica Beeler, Justin Parker, and Dakota Adams who will miss his humorous stories and playful spirit. M.A. also leaves behind 5 great grandchildren. He was a proud member of Pony Express Church.
M.A. was predeceased by his parents, his siblings Billy Adams, Forester Adams, Ivan Adams, Elmo Adams, Madeline Stewart, Vicki Lakes, Major Adams, and his daughter Barbara Dean. His life was enriched by the presence of his children's mother and special friend Betty Adams.
For many years, M.A. served the community through his work at the Kentucky State Highway Department. His dedication to his job was evident in the meticulous care he took in every task he undertook. Outside of work, M.A. enjoyed hunting, and his love for auctions was well known, and he took great pleasure in the thrill of the bid.
M.A. Adams lived a full life, marked by the love he had for his family, the friendships he nurtured, and the laughter he shared. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his spirit will continue to live on through the countless stories and memories he leaves behind. M.A. will be deeply missed, but his legacy of joy and humor will forever be a part of the lives he touched.
Funeral services will be Wednesday Jan. 15, 2025, at Lakes Funeral Home at 1 p.m. with pastor Dwight Northern officiating. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow in Whispering Pines Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Zach Short, Joe Parker, Austin Webb, James C. Adams, Jeff Adams, and L.J. Adams.
