Melessa Lynn Cope

Melessa Lynn Cope, age 50, daughter of Carolyn Cope and the late Rubin Edward Cope died suddenly at her home Thursday, January 16, 2025. Melessa never met a stranger and considered everyone a friend, she enjoyed watching T.V. coloring books, and her dolls especially Matt. Melessa loved to help her mom with housework vacuuming and washing dishes were her favorite.

Other than her mother Carolyn she is survived by, one brother, James Cope and his wife Angela of Richmond, KY, and one sister, Kristy Witten and her husband Jeffrey of Berea, KY. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025, at the Scaffold Cane Baptist Church. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2025, also at the church. Rev. James Hardin will officiate. Burial will follow in the Scaffold Cane Cemetery, pallbearers will be James Cope, Jeffrey Witten, Gunner Clemons, Brandon Cope, Michael Clark, and Doug Miller.
