Charles Randall Lincks, Jr.,
February 01, 2025

Charles Randall Lincks, Jr., 85, passed away at his home in Berea on Jan. 29, 2025. Charlie “C.R” was born on September 4, 1939 in London to Myrtle Gill Lincks and Charles R. Lincks, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Trudy Lincks and their two daughters, Tammy Elam (Quentin) and Diane Parrett (George), 8 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren, all being his PRIDE & JOY! Charlie was also survived by his two sisters, Barbara Taylor (Bob) and JoAnn Baker (Robert) and one sister-in-law, Imogene Lincks. He was preceded in death by one brother, Roy Brock Lincks. To know him was to love him and he leaves behind many dearly loved in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was a faithfully dedicated member of Westside Baptist Church. He gave his heart to the Lord at the age of 81 and was Baptized with his best friend and brother in Christ, Acy Johnson.

As a young man, his future mother-in-law taught him to play the guitar. Music was always a true passion of his. He loved to play bluegrass with his many musical friends and family. Entertaining and making people smile was his joy. He was overjoyed when an award-winning mandolin player moved across the street. Charlie was red, white and bluegrass to the bone. You will never see a bigger smile than when the Fox or the UK Wildcats were on a run!
Born with a strong work ethic, he worked hard his entire life, retiring from Parker Hannifin O-Ring Division after 38 years, 9 months, 11 days, and 5 minutes of dedicated loyal service. Whether farming, factory, or home he taught us the power of an honest day’s work. He had a passion for new cars and talking trade, and it was often joked the only way to recognize what car he was driving was by the temporary tag in the window! He loved nice things and wanted that for everyone around him. He was a good gift giver!
Though never serving our country in the armed forces, he loved it deeply, and it was important to him to display his patriotic spirit with flags and eagles.
C.R. was all about, “where we gonna eat?” His choice of “fine dining” was Moore’s Grocery with two cakes of sausage, Cracker Barrel, and the Hog Pen of course. Sitting down to his favorite meal of meat loaf, peas, mashed potatoes, and gravy, don’t forget the gravy, would begin with, “we’re humming now,” followed by “boy, she’s a good cook, ain’t she?”
For the last several years he cherished his time at the Berea Senior Citizen Center enjoying the many friends and activities that kept him young.
He loved a good road trip across the United States, including Canada, Mexico, even a plane ride to Hawaii. Treasurer of many trips, with daily ‘treasury report’ kept us all in line, and he assumed the role of garbage man, keeping us clean and tidy. KY Cornbread was his CB handle back in the day, and keeping his speed at double nickel was always a challenge for him. He also cherished many family beach trips, too many to number. He favored and looked forward to his yearly Tennessee trip with his siblings and dine-in chef and nephew, Bobby Taylor.
When you get to Heaven, don’t be surprised to see a new coat of paint on the pearly gates and to hear a little bluegrass in the angel band. Until that time, C.R. will remain a song in the hearts of all who knew and loved him, one we will always sing.
