We want to hear from you.

Technology has made it much easier to communicate electronically and we want your to take advantage of the tools that you have at your disposal with your smart phones and computers, whether it be the laptop or the desktop version.

If you are like me, my personal Facebook page keeps my family and friends updated what’s going on in my life. I’m transparent and I like to share what’s going on, but those pictures and comments are mostly for those who follow me closely on social media.

Your smartphone is a handy tool when it comes tracking events — both good and bad — that occur in our daily lives. I’ve used my cell phone many times to take photos of or record breaking news events and they have been used on our web site, social media pages and even shared on the local television stations.

In this day and age, we can’t be every where or even at every event. Even before we have the technology we have in our hands now, it was impossible for the news media to be everywhere and at every event.

As we begin a new year, I’m asking our readers and subscribers to keep us up to date on what’s going on in your neighborhood. 

You can participate by simply sending us a photo, with pertinent information, of an event that you consider newsworthy and would like to see in the newspaper for others to see. It may or may not make the newspaper, but we still want to see and hear from our community.

Secondly, we have a calendar of events page that is pretty popular and we want to make sure your church, social or school event gets published for our readers to see and know about. As a news media publication, our job is to keep the community informed and we reach more readers than your social media page ever will reach. The more people who know about your event, the better the turnout will be and a successful one at that.

Our clubs are welcome to submit their news to us and the Berea Rotary Club and the Lion’s Club are active participants. We welcome club news to our pages and look forward to hearing from you! 

We also are starting a business directory page for our businesses to participate in and also give them the opportunity to reach more readers and generate more business. We receive so many phone calls from people fo want to know who to contact when it comes to a certain project or question they have about a specific item.Our first step is providing those who want to know with an avenue to those businesses.

We also offer a package for our local churches to promote their service times and offerings for those who are looking for a local congregation to become a part of within the community. If you and your church want to let people know where you are and what you are about, the church page is the perfect spot to reach the harvest field.

Our goal is to make sure our readers are informed and we want you to become involved in that process.
