James Richard Woody

Mr. James Richard “Rick” Woody, age 76, of Richmond, formerly of Connersville, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2025.

Mr. Woody, the son of James and Lottie Snyder Woody, was born in Huntington, West Virginia on May 30, 1948. He retired from Ford Motor Company as an Engineering Manager. He assisted in opening a plant in Czech Republic and he also worked with the Ford plant in England.

On April 7, 1993, James was united in marriage to Sandra Edington Woody who survives.

He is also survived by his son: Dr. James “Jim” (& Amanda) Woody II of Burnside, Kentucky, two daughters: Jamie Valentin of Indianapolis, Indiana and Kelly Dixon of Richmond, his sister: Lisa VanAllen, nine grandchildren: Ashton, Trevor, Peyton, Gavin, Paisley, Trey, Grace, Amelia and Kaden, as well as his nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Woody was also preceded in death by three brothers: Larry Woody, Gary Woody and John Woody.

Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date.
