Ralph Douglas Neeley

Mr. Ralph Douglas Neeley, a talented vocalist, and devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend, passed away on Monday evening, Feb. 10.Born on June 1, 1940, in Paint Lick, he was the son of the late Coleman and Jessie Mae Richardson Neeley. Ralph’s life was a harmonious blend of faith, family and music. A 1958 graduate of Madison High School, Ralph’s exceptional voice earned him a scholarship to Eastern Kentucky University, where he honed his craft. His beautiful tenor voice was a gift to all who heard it, and he generously shared it at countless weddings, social events and gatherings.
Ralph’s love of gospel music led him to join with his Sister, Diane as part of the renowned group “The Miracle Quartet”. Together, they spread joy and inspiration through their heartfelt performances, leaving a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to experience their music.
Ralph was a retired Insurance Agent for the former Commonwealth Life Insurance Company. In addition, he was a former Richmond Fire Fighter and had served as a Codes Enforcement Officer. He served as a volunteer for Hospice Care Plus.
Survivors include his loving wife: Nancy Powell Neeley; his children: Doug Neeley (Ruthann) and Aunita Neeley; his sister: Diane Segada (William Miller); his beloved dog: Oreo; one granddaughter: Ashley Reeves; three great-grandchildren and two special friends: Havanna Thacker and Eric Lewis. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Mary Catherine Neeley, Maude Moberly, Dorothy Rodmaker and Steve Neeley.
Ralph’s legacy extends far beyond his impressive vocal talents. He will be remembered by his loved ones for his kind spirit and gentle heart. Rest in peace, Ralph Douglas Neeley. Your beautiful voice and loving presence will never be forgotten.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Fort officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5- 8 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Baker, Jeff Mills, Eric Lewis, Jerry York, David York and Marvin York.
