Mr. Herbert Daniel Rogers, Jr.

Mr. Herbert Daniel Rogers, Jr., 69, of Richmond, passed away on Friday evening, February 14, 2025, at the UK Hospital in Lexington.
He was born in Troy, OH, on May 3, 1955, the son of the late Herbert, Sr., & Lore Willgoroth Rogers. “Herbie” as he was known to his family and friends grew up in the Estill County area and went to Estill County High School. He was a dedicated mechanic having worked for many years with the Estill County Ambulance Service and the Madison County Road Department where he retired in 2020. “Herbie” was a former member of the Estill County Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad and was always looking for ways to help his community. While working was his main “hobby”, he also enjoyed traveling to the beach, going camping and most of all spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his soulmate and wife of 50 years, Colleen Freeman Rogers; his children, Michelle Palmer (Stephen), and Herbert Rogers, III (Molly); two brothers, Fred Rogers (Ann), and Gary Rogers (Sharon); his grandchildren, Stephanie Moore (Dustin), Brianna Ackerman (Michael), Adam Palmer, Andrew Palmer, Bethany Rogers, Herbert Rogers IV, Jack Boyd Rogers and Michaela Rogers; two great-grandchildren, Jace & Macy Moore; one sister, Carolyn Freeman; two sisters-in-law, Sandy Freeman & Cindy Freeman; one brother-in-law. Daniel Arvin; a special friend, Shane Poff; his pet dog, Daisy and cat, KC; a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: one sister, Anne-Marie Arvin; and four brothers-in-law, Garry, Danny, Billy & Larry Freeman.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, February 21, 2025, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, W. Main St., Richmond. Burial will follow in the Baker Family Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Thursday, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be: Adam Palmer, Andrew Palmer, Herbie Rogers IV, Jack Rogers, Michael Ackerman, Dustin Moore, Darren Northern, and Brandon Northern.
