Mrs. Peggy Lee Kelley (Shrout)

Mrs. Peggy Lee Kelley (Shrout), 75, passed away on Saturday February 15, 2025, in Richmond, Kentucky.

Born on July 5, 1949, in Montgomery County, she was the daughter of Mr. Ralph "Jouette" Shrout and Mrs. Mary Olive Shrout. She graduated from Bath County High School in 1967 and married Larry Stephen Kelley in 1969. He was the love of her life. She retired in 2007 after working 30 years in the banking industry. A beloved wife, mother and friend Peggy loved to host annual Thanksgiving's Day dinners and summer family reunions, with her husband Larry, at their home in Richmond Kentucky. Her greatest joy in life was being with her family and friends. She had a deep love for all animals and had many pets throughout her lifetime. She leaves behind her devoted companion Bobbie Sox.

She is preceded in death by her parents Jouette and Mary O. Shrout, a brother John "Ned" Shrout, and her beloved husband of 54 years, Larry Stephen Kelley.

She is survived by: her daughter Krista Kelley Isaacs (Charles Isaacs, Jr.) of Poosey Ridge; sisters-in-law Kathy Dale (Jimmy) of Carlisle, and LeeAnn Shrout of Richmond; and two "sisters" Mary Carolyn Ring (Jim) of Mount Sterling and Barbara Stewart of Lexington; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be conducted at 5:00 PM Friday, February 21, 2025, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, W. Main St., Richmond with Revs. Mark & Lisa Caldwell Reiss officiating.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation starting at 3:00 PM Friday, at the funeral home.

Private burial will take place at the Camp Nelson National Cemetery at a later date.
