Shirley Ann Casey

Shirley Ann Casey, 93, widow of Robert Casey passed away on March 5, in Richmond. She was born on February 4, 1932, to the late Donald McGuire and Dorothy Koub McGuire in Syracuse, New York. Shortly after marriage in 1952, Shirley moved to Robert’s hometown of Danvers, MA, raising two sons, David and Michael, working as a secretary and bookkeeper, and loving her candlepin bowling league until 1972 reluctantly moving with Robert and Michael to Versailles. She was employed by Dixie Cup in H. R., continuing to raise Michael and tending to her flower gardens, moving with Robert to Richmond in 1999 and retiring with him to see the world via many ocean cruises which they both loved. She was a volunteer at the KY blood center for many years as well as a volunteer for St. Mark’s Christmas Bizarre.
She is survived by her son, David, and grandchildren Carter and Emma; son, Michael, and grandson Patrick; brother, Edward; nephew, Ed Jr. and numerous nieces and nephews around the country, friends from Danvers, Versailles, and good neighbors in Richmond.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in passing by her brother, Donald McGuire, her brother Ed’s wife, Carol, and all of Robert's siblings and spouses.
Pallbearers will be her two sons, David and Michael, and grandsons, Carter and Patrick.
Services will be held on Monday, March 10, at Oldham, Roberts, and Powell Funeral Home at 11:30 a.m. with Father Thomas Farrell officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow in Camp Nelson National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
