Shirley Ann Hawley

Shirley Ann Ross Hawley, 85, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, at her home. She was the widow of Vernon Hawley who preceded her in death in 2012.

Shirley was born on November 24, 1939, in Paint Lick, and was the daughter of Lewis William and Estill Conn Ross, both of whom preceded her in death. She was a member of Paint Lick Christian Church and had worked as a bookkeeper with her husband’s construction company. In her spare time, Shirley loved to play bingo and listen to country music. Her greatest joy came from her grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

Survivors include: one son, Michael Hawley; two grandchildren, Jared Michael Hawley and Kristin Paige Hawley; two sisters, Marietta Ross and Judy Cates; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Billie Sue Lear.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 14, at Manse Cemetery in Paint Lick with Bro. Shelby Cates officiating.

Pallbearers will be Bill Lear, Jeff Lear, Larry Hawley, Brent Dalton, Jared Hawley, and Rayden Harvey.
