Teresa Powell Blanton, 66. Surrounded by her family, she went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 16, after a lengthy illness.
Teresa was affectionately known to family and friends as “Aunt TT.” She was born in Madison County on Aug. 6, 1958, to the late Howard Powell and Myrtle Barnett Powell Ruble. She had worked for Madison County Court House as a Clerk. She enjoyed camping and fishing in Green River and loved to spend time with her family.
On May 25, 2000, Teresa united in marriage to Wilbur Blanton who survives.
She is also survived by two brothers, Steve Powell & Linda and Jason Ruble & Tammy, and two sisters. Myra Abner & Mike, and Melody Tipton. Her stepmother Sue Powell, and her sister-in-law, Shirley Yarber, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Teresa was also preceded in death by her stepfather: C. J. Ruble, and her sister-in-law: Teresa Yarber.
Visitation will be held from 11-1 p.m. Friday, March 21, at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will begin at 1 p.m. Friday with Rev. Cecil Burns officiating. Burial will follow in the Madison County Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Blair, John Rice, Shane Deboard, Jonathan Ewing, Brian Yarber, and Kenny Horn.
Sue Powell and Isaac Harrison will serve as honorary pallbearers.
