Corey Jordan Couvillion

Mr. Corey Jordan Couvillion, 34, of Berea, went to be with his Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, March 22.
Corey was born on Oct. 10, 1990, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and earned his bachelor’s degree from McNeese State University. He was a talented musician who played a variety of instruments, including trumpet & bass guitar. He was a BBQ enthusiast who enjoyed smoking his own meats. Since childhood, Corey enjoyed playing video games (Destiny, Call of Duty, etc), and was a master of puzzles, having memorized the Rubik’s Cube. Corey was a passionate Green Bay Packers fan and enjoyed watching and attending any game he could. He was an employee of Premier Power Maintenance, where he was a P&C Specialist.
He was a member of the Richmond House of Prayer, where he most recently served as an Usher and was always looking for ways to volunteer and serve the Lord. It was at church where he met his wife, Lauren, and together they have served the Lord faithfully. He loved being a husband and dad and was a very loving son & best friend to his brother Cole.
Survivors include: his wife, Lauren Couvillion; his son, Maddox Couvillion, and one on the way, Xander Couvillion; his mother, Ella Couvillion; his sisters, Liza Coe & Sarah Scott; his brothers, Cole Couvillion (Alicia) & Jamie Couvillion (Miguele); his father-in-law, Keith Smith (Nancy), and mother-in-law, Toni Puckett (Randall); as well as a host of extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerome Couvillion.
A service to celebrate the life and legacy of Corey will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 27, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, W. Main St., Richmond, with Pastor Owen Moody officiating. The service will be live-streamed starting at 1 p.m. Thursday.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation starting at 10 a.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to God’s Outreach Food Bank.
