Donald E. Edwards

Donald Eugene Edwards, 92, husband of Joyce Maggard Edwards, passed away on Sunday, March 30, at his home. He was born on November 7, 1932, in Richmond, Kentucky, to Tip Edwards and Elizabeth Comley Edwards, both of whom preceded him in passing. He was a retired banker, having served as the President of State Bank. Donald was a member of Big Hill Avenue Christian Church and The Madison Country Club, where he enjoyed golfing.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Timothy Edwards (Regina), Gregory Tipton Edwards (Karen) and Tara Lynn Garris (Jerry); his sister, Doris Coffman; his grandchildren, Trevor Edwards, Trent Edwards, Jacqulyn Howell, Miranda Lainhart, Rachel Edwards, Chase Garris, Bryce Garris and Chelsey Adkinson. He is also survived by several great grandchildren.

In addition to both of his parents, he was preceded in passing by his grandson, Trace Edwards.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 3, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, at the funeral home.

Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
