Nellie B. Woodward Hembree

Nellie B. Woodward Hembree, 76, passed away on Sunday, March 30, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. She was the widow of Hubert Hembree, who preceded her in death in 2002.

Nellie was born on July 14, 1948, in Richmond and was the daughter of Vernon and Dewey Ellen Sizemore Woodward, both of whom preceded her in death. She was a member of Grace Chapel Wesleyan Church and was a retired housekeeping supervisor at Madison Manor Nursing Home.

Survivors include: one son, Steven Hubert Hembree; two grandchildren, Hayden Scott Hembree and Hanna Mae Hembree; a special caregiver, Jennifer Freeman; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers: Charlie Woodward, Hubert Woodward, Wesley Turner, and Green Johnson.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Bro. Owen Moody officiating.

Visitation will be from 6 – 8 p.m. on Friday, April 4.
