Pamela Louise Palmisano

April 11, 2025

Pamela Louise Palmisano, 78, loving wife of Larry Palmisano and devoted mother of John, Tim, and Steve, passed away peacefully and with grace on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on May 20, 1947, to James and Alice Hogsett.
In addition to her husband and sons, those left to cherish Pam’s memory include her beloved grandchildren Julian, Katie, Anna, McKenzie, Noah, Jaret and Kody, and their spouses and partners Taylor, Trent, Colin, Shawn, Natalia, Ari, and Julie; her great-grandchildren Logan, Liam, and Karsten; and her daughters-in-law Ricka and Sue, and son-in-law Matt.
Pam’s greatest love was for her family. As the matriarch of her close-knit family, she organized family gatherings and vacations all over the country and ensured that her family gathered several times each year. She was a master in the art of creating a sense of belonging and fun, and made new people feel welcomed into the family as our family grew.
Pam was especially fond of games, and was always finding creative ways for her family to have fun together, whether it was playing cards, yard games (which she usually won) or instigating a shaving cream fight.
Pam’s deepest relationship was with her husband, Larry. They were a true team. Together, they raised three boys, had successful careers, and shared a passion for traveling and exploring new places. It was obvious to all that they truly, truly enjoyed being together.
Pam led her life as a servant and volunteered continually throughout her life. She served on the board of directors for the Home Meals Delivery Program and delivered meals for 16 years. She played in a dulcimer group offering concerts at nursing homes. She taught English to Japanese students and served with Habitat for Humanity for years. Through her activities, she cultivated many important friendships that she cherished deeply and talked of fondly.
Most people know that Pam lived a cancer journey for 16 years, and her positive attitude was known far and wide. Her life was a beacon of hope for many others struggling with health issues, and this is her great legacy.
As a woman of faith, Pam was an Eucharistic Minister and leader in her church. She lived her faith with a quiet yet unshakable integrity: invisible yet unmistakable.
A funeral service will be held Monday, April 14th, at 12 p.m. at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, with visitation starting at 10 a.m. until the time of service. A reception will take place directly after the service at The Richmond Area Arts Council, 399 West Water Street in Richmond.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to organizations that were important to Pam: Hospice of the Bluegrass, University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center, or Lexington Humane Society.
