Leamon Lorne Oliver, Jr., 74, of Poosey Ridge, a devoted husband, loving father and caring neighbor passed away suddenly on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.
Leamon was born in Madison County on Tuesday, February 6, 1951, the son of the late Leamon Oliver, Sr. and Hallie Hall Oliver. He was a member of the Salem Christian Church and served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. He had worked many years as a truck driver with Murphy’s Surf Air and was a retired employee of Link Belt. Leamon had a passion for farming and was proud to operate the family farm in Poosey. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. He was a shade tree mechanic, always working on a vehicle or tinkering with something. A favorite pastime of his was pulling a prank on a family member or friend.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Patricia Marilyn Frye Oliver, one son, Leamon Jason Oliver (Lisa); four daughters, Kimberly Delaney, Stacey Holland (C. J.), Stephanie Riley (Shannon), and Patricia Rachelle Snyder (Daniel Renfro); one sister, Sheila Ann Clement, 11 Grandchildren, Sabrina Riley, Chelsey Holland, James Delaney II (Sarah), Austin Tyler Overbee, Hannah Riley, Sandra Holland, Abby Snyder, Margaret Delaney, Landen Riley, Danielle Renfro and Waylon Renfro; a sister-in-law, Ramonda Oliver; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Oliver and four grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Bro. John McCord officiating. Burial will follow in the Pilot Knob Cemetery with full military rites being observed. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Active Pallbearers will be Bobby Oliver, Daniel Renfro, Kevin Cain, Kevin Cole, Joey Calico and Jeffrey Calico. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gordon Cotton, Jimmy Cotton, Billy Collins, Johny Collins, Glenn Thomas, Roger Thomas, Doug Davis, Ernie Taylor and Donald Grant.
