Kathy Diane Thompson, 73, peacefully passed away at her home in Berea, surrounded by her loved ones on June 14, 2025.
She was born on Sept. 1, 1951, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Charles and Bonnie Wilson Carter, and was preceded in death by her parents. Known affectionately by many family and friends as “Nannie,” Kathy deeply loved and cherished her family. She was a devoted wife to her husband and best friend, Robert, for the past 56 years. Her legacy lives on through her daughter, Christy; her grandchildren, Brandon (Miranda) and Brianna (Matthew); and her most treasured great-grandchildren, Jack Louis, Katy Liz, and Jenna Lynn. She is also survived by her sister, Deborah, as well as her nephew and niece, David and Leah.
Kathy exemplified unwavering faith in God and steadfast love for those around her. She was a pillar of strength and a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Her family takes comfort in knowing she is now at peace, reunited with loved ones who passed before her, and resting in the arms of her Savior.
Funeral services will be 11 am, Friday, June 20, 2025, at Berea Church of God with Pastor Stephen Hobbs and Cody Ocelli officiating. Private burial will be in Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Thursday evening from 5 pm to 8 pm at the church. Condolences may be left for the family at www.lakesfuneralhome.com
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Berea Church of God Building Fund or Hospice Care Plus of Richmond in her memory.
