Samuel "Sammy" Thacker

Samuel "Sammy" Thacker, a unique and unforgettable presence in the lives of those who knew him, passed away sometime Monday night and into Tuesday, June 10, 2025. Though his time on this earth has come to an end, his family finds comfort in knowing that he was a saved man through Jesus Christ, and that his eternal home is now in Heaven.

Above all, Sam loved his children, James Thacker and Brandi Thacker, and took immense pride in them. Though he may not have always shown it in conventional ways, his pride in their accomplishments and the people they became was undeniable. His father, Sam Thacker, and stepmother, Rhoadie Thacker, stood by him throughout his journey, offering support and guidance. His brother, David Thacker, and sister-in-law, Nancy Thacker, shared in his life’s moments, understanding the depth of his character and the love that lay beneath his sometimes tough exterior. Sam’s personality was one of a kind—bold, strong, and unwavering. He had a way of leaving an impression, of making people think, and of showing his care in ways that were uniquely his own. Those who truly knew him understood that beneath his sometimes guarded nature was a heart full of love and pride for his family. Rest in peace, Sammy. You were loved, and you will always be remembered. Through Christ, we know this is not goodbye, but rather, "Until we meet again."
