Carey Belle Taylor Lake

Carey Belle Taylor Lake, 63, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, after arrival at the University of Kentucky Hospital. She was the wife of Kirk Lake.
Carey was born on October 6, 1961, in Richmond, Kentucky, at the old Pattie A. Clay Hospital and was the daughter of Pauline Esther Bryant and the late Speed Gibson Taylor. She was raised by her aunt and uncle, Ada and Jasper Million, on their farm at Newby. Carey learned to love gardening and developed a great appreciation for family history from her Aunt Ada. She was a true Southern Belle in every way and was proud of her Madison County heritage. Carey enjoyed gardening, photography, and researching her family genealogy. She was a member of Berea Christian Church in Lexington.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by three special cousins, Jason Taylor, Ashley Taylor, and Bambi Yocum; her mother-in-law, Jackie Lake; a sister-in-law, Lisa Lucas; a brother-in-law, Jeff Johnson; and two nieces, Amanda Miller and Christina Young.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Pastor Rob Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be: Steve Vescio, Matt Foley, Jason Taylor, Reagan Taylor, Jeff Johnson, and Rex Powell.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the UK Markey Cancer Center or the Lexington Humane Society.
