Sensory friendly Halloween event a success

November 01, 2023

The Sensory Friendly and Special needs Trick or Treat event at the Folk Center was held last Friday and the event was a success. The event featured 25 vendors and more than 200 participants. “We were able to host a low sensory, safe and fun event for nearly 200 special needs kids and their siblings in our community,” One of the event organizers, Beka Powell said. “They were able to come in at their own pace and collect toys and treats, play with our sensory station and interact with lots of fun characters and all of it was safe and free.” A second event is planned for next year.
