James Lee Dooley

James Lee Dooley, 58, of Mt. Vernon died Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at U.K. Medical Center following an illness. He was a Rockcastle County native born March 24, 1965, son of the late Freddy Dooley and Lois Chasteen McHone. He had served as a member of the National Guard and was a former employee of Hitachi Global and had been a resident of the Berea Area all his life.

In addition to his mother survivors include his daughter Stacy Kelley; siblings Renee Frederick, Tommy Dooley, April McHone, Misty McHone, Penny McHone, Donna McHone; 7 grandchildren; special friends Carlton and Betty Smallwood Hunt; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father; son Gary Reed; siblings Calvin Dooley, Arnold Ray McHone, Darrell McHone, Cheryl Chasteen.

Graveside Service 1:00 PM Friday, November 10, 2023 at Smallwood Cemetery at Red Lick.
