Charles A. Kilburn

Charles A. Kilburn, a long-time resident of Berea, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2024, in Richmond, at the age of 89. Born on December 22, 1934, in Jackson County, Charles lived a full life marked by dedication to his family, his work, and his community.

Charles was preceded in death by his loving parents, Claude and Goldie Kilburn; his devoted wife, Alma L. Kilburn; his caring daughter, Pam Stamper; and two of his brothers, Harold and Lowell Kilburn. He will be deeply missed but leaves behind a legacy through his surviving family members: his daughters, Louann Robinson and Susan Kilburn; his brother, Wendell (Linda) Kilburn; his sister, Joyce Duncil; three grandchildren, Marsha Moss, Karen (Shawn) Herzog, and Jason Robinson, six cherished great grandchildren, Victor, Valerie, Mikey, Phillip, Corey, and Noah; and two great-great-grandchildren, Colton Lee and Amelia Mae, who brought him immense joy.

A proud veteran of the US Army, Charles continued his service to his country as a dedicated teacher, served as the County Court Clerk for Jackson County, and was a respected self-employed businessman. Charles was dedicated to his faith as a member of the Berea Baptist Church.

Graveside services were conducted on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at Madison County Memorial Gardens. Pastor Kevin Slemp officiated. Full military honors were held at the cemetery.

Lakes Funeral Home in Berea was in charge of arrangements.
