Karen Denise Brown

Karen Denise Brown, known affectionately by all as Denise, passed away suddenly on August 27, 2023, in Berea. She was born on July 2, 1958, in Mt. Vernon.
Denise was the beloved daughter of the late Jack Dempsey Dailey and Ellen Baker Dailey. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Frankie Dailey. Denise is survived by her devoted husband, Richard Brown, and their four children, Chastity Smith, Tracy (James) Thompson, Marty Brown, and Jessica (Kevin) Tucker. Her siblings, Lisa Poynter and Johnny Dailey, will remember her fondly.
Denise was a cherished grandmother to McKenzie Kirby, Brittney Davidson, Zackery Poynter, Kalleigh Sumpter, Bethany Himes, Aaron Himes, and Brett Himes. She was also a doting great-grandmother to Ryland Davidson, Zayden Davidson, Cayson Davidson, Daxton Davidson, and Alaina Himes. Denise's love for her family was boundless.
Denise's professional life was marked by dedication and hard work. She retired from Dresser Industries. After retirement, she managed Don's Discount.
Denise's life was a testament to the power of love and the importance of family. She was a pillar of strength for her family, a trusted friend, and a respected member of her community. Denise's passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Lakes Funeral Home with Pastor Kenny Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Piney Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Brent May, Lyndon Smith, Mike Isaacs, Rick Brown, Kevin Tucker, Zach Leightner, and Roger Poynter.
