Peggy Louise Thompson

Peggy Louise Thompson, 75, of Berea, departed for her Heavenly Home Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at Berea Health & Rehabilitation. She was born June 4, 1948, in Berea, the daughter of the late William Clay Shouse and Bessie May Lakes Shouse.

Peggy was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She spent many years as a beautician in Berea and she enjoyed singing gospel music. She was formerly a member of the group, The Gospel Trio. Before Peggy’s illness, she was actively involved in the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Berea, where she also sang with the Upward and Downward music group.

Left to cherish her memory is one son, Jason Abney; 3 grandchildren, Lane Abney, Reece Abney, Violet Abney; 3 sisters, Marlene Hagan, Phyllis Burns, Shirley (Jim) Thompson; 1 sister-in-law, Rita Shouse; Jason’s father, Gary Abney; a host of nieces and nephews, as well as many other relatives, friends and church family. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Danny Thompson; 1 brother, Kenneth Shouse and 1 grandchild, Ivy Abney.

Funeral services were held on Friday, January 26, 2024, at Reppert Funeral Home in Berea. Entombment followed at the Berea Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jason Abney, Lane Abney, Reece Abney, Scott Abney, Sammy Castle and Blake Wiles.
