Elaine Thacker Grant

Elaine Thacker Grant, 73, of Mt. Vernon, died Friday, March 22, 2024, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. She was a Rockcastle County native born April 10, 1950, daughter of the late Kenneth and Edith Baker Thacker, retired Goodwill Industries employee, member of the Baptist Faith and had been a resident of the Berea area most of her life.

Her greatest pleasure in life was caring for her family which she loved beyond measure! In her spare time Elaine was a dirt car racing enthusiast and auto racing enthusiast.

Survivors include 3 children Anita Azbill, Sherry Grant, Bartley Grant (Erica); 4 siblings Virginia Saylor (Widow of Conley), Laverne Powell (John), Debbie Thompson (Dennis), Mike Thacker (Carolyn); 7 grandchildren Aubrey, Jamie, Maggie, Tori, Daniel, Dylan, Reagan; 6 great-grandchildren Taylor, Lucas, Finley, Paisley, Cooper, Mabel; special friends Kevin McClure, Heather McClure, Deborah Counts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 5 siblings George, Rabon, Kenneth Freeman, Wayne, Margie.

In accordance with Elaine’s wishes, she was cremated, and a Memorial Service was held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 in Rock House at Church on the Rock. Pastor Mark Sarver officiated.
