Jimmie Thomas Lamb

Jimmie Thomas Lamb, beloved family man and pillar of the Madison County agricultural community, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family in Richmond, on July 3, 2024, at the age of 74. Born on March 22, 1950, in Madison County, Jimmie lived a life rooted in the soil that he cherished and the family that he adored.

Jimmie was predeceased by his father, Thomas Lamb. His memory will be treasured by his devoted wife of 36 years, Jenetta Stewart Lamb, his mother, Elva Lamb, and his siblings, Harold Lamb, Randy (Judy) Lamb, Danny Lamb, Trisha (Tracy) Brown, and Kenny (Debbie) Lamb. He leaves behind his children, Christy (Rodelle Meade) Smith, Jayme (Johnathan) Johnson, Sharon (Glen) Poynter, Missy (Robert) Sewell, and Chris (Joyce) Mason; seven grandchildren, Justen Smith, Kelly Smith, Jonah Johnson, Kaitlin Bullock, Jessika Kelly, Mackenzie Culp, and Travis Abner, along with five great-grandchildren, Beau, Westen, Penelope, Lincoln, and Seren.

A life-long farmer, Jimmie was deeply connected to the land and the community it fostered. Throughout his agricultural career, he was recognized by the Berea Chamber of Commerce and the Madison County Extension office with the Farmer of the Year awards. These accolades were a testament to his dedication and hard work in the fields he tended. Jimmie's passion for farming went beyond cultivation; it was the bedrock of life-long friendships. He valued the opinions of his fellow farmers and held their life’s work in high regard.

Funeral services were conducted on Monday, July 8, 2024, at Lakes Funeral Home. Pastor Chris Cobb officiated. Burial followed in the Pilot Knob Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Rodelle Meade, Glen Poynter, Ronnie Gadd, Scott Rowlette, Wayne Robinson, and Paul Mullins. Honorary bearers were Chris Mason, Justen Smith, Jonah Johnson, Justin Neil, Eric Turner, and Rick Jenkins.
