The Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 7 reconstruction team is investigating a pedestrian-involved collision that occurred on Friday, Aug. 9, at 4:36 p.m. near 1013 Buc-ee’s Boulevard in Richmond.
The preliminary investigation indicated that Lana R. Barnett, 82, of Ohio, was walking near the Buc-cee’s fuel pumps when Trooper Chad Barnes, who was operating an unmarked patrol vehicle, pulled away from the fuel pump and inadvertently struck Ms. Barnett. Trooper Barnes immediately rendered aid, staying with her until EMS arrived.
Ms. Barnett received non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Medical Center, where she is in stable condition. The investigation remains ongoing.
