Carol Louise Kelley McCray, age 79, wife of Carl G. McCray, passed away Friday December 1, 2023, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington. She was born July 25, 1944, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to the late James Kelly and Mary Vannoy Brumfield. Carol was of the Christian faith and a member of the First Christian Church in Berea, where she served as secretary for many years and as Deacon. Carol also served for several years as secretary for the First Christian Church in Richmond. She was an avid UK Wildcats Fan.
In addition to her husband Carl, Carol is survived by two sons, Carl A. McCray and his wife Libby of Burgin, Robert McCray and his wife Bridget of Plain City, Ohio, four siblings, Barbara Otte of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, James Kelley and his wife Diane of Nicholasville, Betty Jones of Nicholasville, Eileen Keeton and her husband John of Winchester, 6 grandchildren, Tegan McCray, Kaylee McCray, Kacey McCray, Sydney McCray, Rocco McCray, Carmela McCray, and one great grandchild, Amelia Jade McCray.
Memorial services were held Tuesday December 5, 2023, at First Christian Church in Berea. Revs. Mark & Lisa Caldwell-Reiss and Rev. Carl A. McCray officiated.
