Danny Jewell Coffey, 72, of Berea, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at his residence Monday, July 27, 2026.
Born in Berea on October 3, 1953, Danny was the son of the late Andrew Coffey and Bernice Pigg Coffey. He spent his career working in construction and concrete, where he was known for his strong work ethic and willingness to help others.
Danny was a devoted Christian and attended New Zion Baptist Church in Gray Hawk. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, woodworking, and spending time outdoors. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sally Elsie Hundley Coffey; his daughter, Amy Jewell Coffey of Berea; his son, Dennis "Tippy" Allen and his wife Theresa both of Berea, KY, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by his brother Larry Raven Coffey.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Davis & Powell Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. James Hardin officiating. Pallbearers will be, Tippy Allen, Joe Thacker, Jeff Thacker, and Ted Hundley. Danny will be laid to rest at Scaffold Cane Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Kentucky.
Danny will be remembered as a hardworking man with a deep love for the outdoors, a strong faith in God, and a heart devoted to his family. His kindness, quiet strength, and the memories he created with those he loved will be cherished always. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
