Dearl Rose, 88, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus surrounded by his family on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at the Hospice Care Center in Richmond. He was born February 15, 1936, to the late Charlie Green and Martha B Rose in Jackson County. Dearl worked numerous jobs over the years, where he made many friends. He worked for RCA Records and drove a semi-truck before retiring from Hyster in Berea. Dearl loved being outdoors, chopping wood, sharing a meal with loved ones, and spending time in his favorite resting spot— the front porch.
Left to celebrate his life and continue his legacy are his wife of 14 years, Elva Drewsella Rose, his stepchildren, Kim (James) Rice, Doug (Malinda) Pigg, and Jessica (Troy) Baker, 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Dearl is also survived by his sisters, Yvonnia and Janette, his beloved brother, Dallas, as well as many nephews and nieces. Besides his parents, Dearl was preceded in death by his siblings: Elverta, Violet, Villar, and Arlon.
Funeral services for Dearl were conducted Sunday, March 17 at Davis and Powell Funeral Home in Berea. Bro. Johnny Gross and Bro. Kevin Cooper officiated the service. Burial followed in Pilot Knob Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Doug Pigg, Troy Baker, Kyle Baker, Kaden Baker, Justen Rice, and Elvis Ingram. Honorary pallbearers will be Craig Hale, Kelly Hale, James Rice, Roger Rose, Aaron Smith, and Adam Price.
