Ethel Carpenter Tuttle Pigg, age 85, passed away at her home in Paint Lick, Ky on January 16, 2026. She was born October 17, 1940, in Garrard County, Kentucky to the late Newt and Flossie Bishop Carpenter. Ethel farmed and raised five children alone, instilling in her children an incredible work ethic. She loved fishing, bingo, and playing rummy. Most of all Ethel enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was of the Holiness faith and had been attending the Clover Bottom Baptist Church.


Other than her parents she was preceded in death by one son, Billy Tuttle, two brothers, Giles and Bennett Carpenter, and two sisters, Sheila Masters, and Betty Lakes.


Ethel is survived by four children, Carol (Jeff) Carman of Stanford, KY, Donna (Dee) Bunch of Bradenton, FL, Timmy Tuttle, and Janet (Perry) Kerby both of Paint Lick, KY. One brother, Glendon (Betty Jo) Carpenter of Berea, KY, and one sister, Faye (Don) Perkins of Richmond, KY. 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild also survive along with her constant companion and friend Poogie.


Visitation will be Monday January 19, 2026, from 6-8 PM at Davis & Powell Funeral Home with funeral services to follow on Tuesday the 20th of January at 1:00 PM with Pastor David Metcalf officiating. Burial will follow in the Paint Lick Cemetery, pallbearers will be, Thomas Winkler, George Winkler, Brent Moore, Brent Moore, Jr., Gary Herron, and Harold Carpenter. Honorary pallbearers are David Kerby, Randall Kerby, and Wayne Callahan.
