Jerry Wayne Lewis, a cherished father, brother, grandfather, and friend, passed away on December 18, 2023, at the age of 71, in Mt. Vernon.

Jerry's story began in the heart of Kentucky, where he grew up to embody the spirit of kindness and hard work that would define him. Unfortunate to have been preceded in death by his beloved parents Cowley and Anne Lee Lewis, his soulmate Kathy Lewis, his son Jerry Wayne Lewis Jr., grandson Landon Hays, and two sisters Joy Lewis Farler, and Virginia Lewis, he continued to pour his love into his family, leaving behind a legacy of resilience and devotion.

Jerry is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Tina Renee Adams and her husband Junior, and Holly Lynette Sowder with her husband Shawn. His brother, Cowley Lewis, and his wife Peggy, along with his sister Brenda Nogalski. His life is also celebrated by his treasured grandchildren, Taylor Truett, Katlyn Gabbard, Dalton Combs, and Logan Sowder, and his great-grandchildren Madysen Smith, Seth Smith, Grayson Gabbard, and Everleigh Truett, who brought immense joy to his later years. A man beloved by family and friends, he leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and good friends, all of whom will miss him deeply.

A skilled auto mechanic by profession, Jerry was respected for his work ethic and expertise. His enduring passion for the outdoors was the backdrop to many a tale of hunting and fishing adventures, pursuits that he found endlessly rewarding. Jerry's life was further enriched by the companionship of his loyal dog and best friend, Lacey, a constant and comforting presence.

A memorial service for Jerry was conducted on Friday, December 22, 2023, at First Faith Independent Church, in Berea. His son-in-law, Shawn Sowder officiated the service
