Joel Shane “Joey” Eaton, passed away peacefully at the age of 55 on March 14, 2024, in Lexington. Born on May 9, 1968, in Berea, Joey was a loving husband, father, and friend who brought joy and laughter to all who knew him.
Joey is preceded in death by his father, Jerome Lee Eaton. His loving spirit will be cherished and remembered by his adoring children, Seth Eaton and wife Shelby, Tanner Eaton and wife Stacy, and Marriah Eaton and wife Mariah. He also leaves behind his wife, Rosetta Eaton, his caring mother, Rieta Jo Eaton, his siblings, Andrea Eaton and husband Jermaine, with their children, Brayden Chase and Bryce Chander, as well as Jason Eaton and wife Kristy, and their children, Greenlee Noel, Maris Harper, and Esmae Kate. Joey's legacy continues through the joy of his three grandchildren, Brinklee Alice, Millie Elizabeth, and Huxley Elijah Eaton.
A dedicated employee, Joey served as a supervisor at Johnson Controls in Lexington. He was also a member of the Full Gospel Outreach Church in Berea.
An enthusiastic fan of the University of Kentucky sports, Joey's passion for the game was second only to his love for his two dogs, Dalilah and Cam. Joey's warm presence and infectious smile will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were privileged to know him.
Funeral services were held, Monday, March 18, 2024, at Lakes Funeral Home. Kevin Slemp officiated.
Lakes Funeral Home in Berea was in charge of arrangements.
