Mrs. Madonna Lynn Barnes, 76, the wife of Tom T. Barnes, passed away on Tuesday evening, Feb.25.
Madonna was born on February 23, 1949, in Richmond. She was the daughter of the late Audley and Barbara Payne Sams. Madonna was a retired Administrative Assistant at Eastern Kentucky University and was a member of The Lexington Road Church of God.
Survivors in addition to her husband include one son: Bruce Barnes (Melissa Renee); one daughter: Tracie Lynn Barnes; three grandchildren: Blake Barnes (Emily), Brandon Barnes (Jamie), and Andrew Barnes; two great-grandchildren: Arya and Meadow Barnes; three sisters: Connie Howe (Ronnie), Tammy Short and Stephanie Hunter as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews including a special niece: Rylie Graves.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother: Lance Sams, and a sister Kathy Green.
Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 2, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Pastor Owen Moody and Pastor Mark Sarver officiating. Private family burial will be in the Barnes Family Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers are Blake Barnes, Brandon Barnes, Andrew Barnes, Tyler Hunter, Camden Hunter, and Jackson Hunter.
