Mrs. Connie Faye Kelley French Laws, a 70, of Berea, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at UK Chandler Medical Center.
Mrs. Laws, the daughter of the late Edgar Kelley and Odella Hall Kelley Flanagan, was born in Madison County on August 6, 1953.
Earlier in her life, she enjoyed entertaining and playing in various bands. Her hobbies included fishing, traveling and she dearly cared for her dogs. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren. She was also of the Pentecostal faith.
On April 17, 2014, Connie united in marriage to Marlin Laws who survives.
She is also survived by two daughters: Sherri Portwood of Richmond and Shawna Smith of Berea; her stepson: Richard (& Kendall) Laws; one stepdaughter: Sharon Rose; four grandchildren: Sean (& Breanna) Buckler, Matthew Buckler, Sydney Smith and Aubrey Smith; three step-grandchildren: Michael Laws, Briannah Laws and Lindsey Rose and her nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Laws was also preceded in death by her first husband: Thomas French, three brothers: Lonnie Kelly, Sr. (who was her twin,) John Kelley and Jack Flanagan, Jr. and her sister: Peggy Barnes.
Funeral Service were conducted Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Masters officiated. Burial followed in the Madison County Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Sean Buckler, Matthew Buckler, Lonnie Kelley, Jr., Doug Thomas and Marshall Laws.
Combs, Collins and Parsons Funeral Home in Richmond was in charge of arrangements.
