Nancy Cinda Joseph Harrison, widow of John D. Harrison, Sr. passed away at her home in Berea on Friday, December 29, 2023. She was born March 16th, 1936, in Leslie County to the late Cecil and Pearlie Ellen Whittaker Joseph. Mrs. Harrison had been a volunteer at Berea Hospital. She enjoyed word-find puzzles, game shows, soap operas, the news, canning and gardening and anything outdoors. Most of all she loved her family, they were her pride and joy, she dedicated her entire life to them especially her children and grandchildren. She loved to travel with her family and anytime they gathered there was always food on the table. Mrs. Harrison was a member of Berea Baptist Church.
Other than her husband and parents she was preceded in death by one son, John Deland Harrison, Jr., one grandson, John Deland Harrison, III., one great grandson, Dylan Lewis, four siblings, Isaac (Betty) Joseph, Martha (Taylor) Mitchell, Faye Santana, William Joseph, brother-in-law John Henry Engle, sister-in-law, Alice Joseph and a special friend Joan Cornelison.
Mrs. Harrison is survived by five children, Bonnie Lou Hopkins, Betty Ann Lewis, Pearlie Faye Harrison, Barbara Ellen Cuthbertson and her husband Stuart, and Josh Roger Harrison and his wife JoAnn all of Berea, KY. One sister, Bernice Engle, one brother, Lonnie Joseph, both of Somerset, KY. Eight grandchildren, Lonnie Lewis, Jr. of Estill County, James Lewis of Berea, Cassie Harrison of Richmond, Ruby LuCinda Lewis of Corbin, Stephen Michael Hopkins and his wife RayNikkia of Berea, Roger David Lewis of Willisburg, Josh Roger (Makaila Goddard) Harrison, Jr. of Berea, William Christopher Lewis and his wife Tara of Glenndale, Arizona. Three great grandchildren, Dakota, Devin, and Damien Lewis and sister-in-law Helen Joseph along with several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024. Dr. Sherri Adkins officiated. Burial followed in the Pilot Knob Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandchildren and nephews, honorary pallbearers will be great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
