Theda Lea Caldwell Saylor, age 84, widow of Alvin T. Saylor passed away Monday, February 24, 2025, at
the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, KY. She was born in 1941, to the late Hardie and Ruth
Brown Caldwell in Harlan, KY. Theda was a homemaker and loved to care for military veterans in her
home which she did for 40 years. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed sewing ceramics,
puzzles, and hobbies of all kinds, but mostly she loved the Lord and was of Pentecostal faith.
Other than her husband and parents she was preceded by six siblings, Maxine Spanos, Norman, Herbert,
and Michael Caldwell, Kathy Caldwell, and Louise Noe.
Theda is survived by four children, Ilinda Ruth Broughton, Alvin Ketih Saylor both of Crab Orchard, KY,
Stevie Saylor and his wife, Sherry of Paint Lick, KY, and Tony Saylor of Berea, KY. Five siblings, Charlene
Helton, Christine Caldwell, Pat Graves, Gail Saylor, and Kenneth Caldwell. Ten grandchildren, numerous
great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren along with many friends also survive.
Visitation will be Friday, February 28, 2025, from 5-8 PM at Davis & Powell Funeral Home. Funeral
services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, March 1 st , 2025, with Rev. Chuck Elam officiating at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in the Elmer Saylor Cemetery on Dripping Springs in Crab Orchard, KY family and
