Earnest Leon Marshall

Earnest Leon Marshall, 84, of Berea, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2024. Born in Castlewood, Virginia, on August 10, 1940, he was the son of the late Earnest H. and Faye Meade Marshall.

  After a long and successful career, Earnest retired from IBM in Lexington, where he was known for his dedication. Earnest was a steadfast member of the Assembly of God Church, living his faith in every aspect of his life.

  He leaves behind a legacy of love and integrity in the hearts of his beloved wife of almost 43 years, Katheryne Hisel Marshall; his children, Greg (Judy) Marshall and Teresa (Peter) DoCouto; stepchildren, Deborah Lynn Crawford, and Patricia (Bill) Marcus; siblings, Cogan Glenn (Kathy) Marshall, and Adris Beverly. His memory will be fondly cherished by his grandchildren, Madison and Shane Keller; step-grandchildren, Anthony Crawford, Joshua Marcus, and Whitney Balderas; as well as his step great-grandchildren, Kai Marcus, Brian, Abigail, Alyssa, and Austin Crawford.

  Earnest's departure is preceded by the death of his parents and a brother-in-law, Wade Beverly.

  Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Lakes Funeral Home Pastor Glen Spann officiated. Burial followed in the Madison County Memorial Gardens.
