Barbara Helen White McNew

Barbara Helen White McNew, 84, passed away Wednesday August 21, 2024, at the Terrace Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Berea. She was born July 16, 1940, in Madison County, to the late Marcus Wilson and Nancy Elizabeth Durham White. Barbara retired from Parker Seals Co. after 30 plus years of service. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and many different crafts. Barbara was a great cook and canned much of what she prepared. She loved her pool and took pride in keeping it maintained. Barbara had six cats over time with two of them being very special to her, Odd-Job and Little-Bit.

  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Gilmore McNew, son Claude Gilmore McNew, brother, Marcus Delmar White, and sister, Rebecca White Damrell.

Barbara is survived by two sisters, Donna Jean White Frost of Berea, Verna Mae White Smith of Berea, two nephews Mark Brandon Frost and his wife Bolaji of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Jonathon Kirk Frost and his wife Christina of Berea.

  Graveside services were conducted Friday August 23rd at Berea Cemetery.
