Mrs. Carolyn Hacker Ashley

Mrs. Carolyn Hacker Ashley, 76, of Kingston, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center.
She was born on October 1, 1947, the daughter of the late Joe Hacker and Gillis “Tommie” Abney Hacker Palmer. Carolyn retired as laundry manager from the federal government where she worked for many years in Lexington. After retirement she enjoyed traveling the country, especially going out west, and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She had also volunteered with the Battle of Richmond Association.
Survivors include: her husband of 60 years, Kenneth Ashley; her two children, Gillis Ashley (Stefanie), and Lavona Jo Struss (Rick); four grandchildren, Kenny Struss, Austin Barnett, Logan Ashley & Brennan Ashley; two great-grandchildren, Deliah Kay Struss & Weston Cole Struss; two brothers, Ralph Hacker (Marilyn), and Joe Wayne Hacker (Sigrun); sister-in-law, Teresa Hacker; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and many other extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Hacker.
A celebration of Carolyn’s life will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the Battlefield Park, 1546 Battlefield Memorial Hwy. All those who knew her are welcome. Please come prepared to share food, memories, and stories and love as we gather to remember her.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Hospice Compassionate Care Center, 350 Isaacs Lane, Richmond, KY 40475.
